Russian Spy

Fascinated with Russians from a very young age, I always find it amazing and reminded how fanatic I am when movies, Hollywood flicks in particular, have Russians as their favorite villains numerously. Turning a Russian spy against her own people is an unpredictable twist in the 2010 movie Salt (Evelyn Salt portrayed by Angelina Jolie). I am a Filipino, proud to be, with Spanish heritage and thanks to Facebook, African as well I believe because of my surname origin. But I like to think that I have a drop of Russian blood in me too because of my undying interests. Like learning their history, language (thanks to Michel Thomas) and cyrillic alphabet to an extent. Which I tend to forget anyway because of having imaginary Russian friends and just being out of practice.

Why Russians? This may sound shallow, I know, but I would say because of defending cosmonauts being better that astronauts like Yuri Gagarin long time ago in my childhood. Later on came Marat Safin who made me a tennis fan until Maria Sharapova came along. Also half Russian and half Serbian, Ukrainian-born, Milla Jovovich who took my breath away in her film The Fifth Element. Peter Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, Russia's figure skaters and synchronized swimmers are the best. Russian second name suffix -ovich or -ovna to their father's name is cool, with their sexy and husky guttural accent and a lot more!

I am a wishful thinker and if I have to tour a country and be part of a whole new world, well, Russia here I come! I have a lifetime to dream or do whatever it takes to make a Dreams of My Russian Summers own life adaptation. Good luck to me!
